The Outer Limits

The Outer Limits is, to put it simply: the best TV show ever.

"There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are now controlling the transmission. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousand channels or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. For the next hour we will control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the deepest inner mind to the outer limits."

And that, my friends, is the best opening line ever.

The Outer Limits never cease to interest me. I've watched countless episodes, and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Although the Outer Limits is basically a copy of the Twilight Zone, which I like also, it remains fresh and exciting. The Twilight Zone opening line is good, too:

"You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!"

Episodes can be found here: http://www.fancast.com/tv/The-Outer-Limits/4643/full-episodes

I suggest you watch the episodes Skin Deep, Alien Shop, Flower Child, Abduction, and Family Values to start out with, although there is a countless number of good episodes.

Through the Eyes of a Muse: Pattie Boyd

With my brain on empty and nothing else to inspire an interesting post, I’ve decided to write about a little lady I saw in A Hard Day’s Night, and grew quite fond of. Her name is Pattie Boyd, and she was both a model and photographer popular in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s for having married two rock legends, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. Right now I am reading her biography Wonderful Tonight, in which she talks about growing up in Africa, moving to London and modeling, her trip to India, and later getting involved with two amazing rock stars. I find her really pretty with her gap-toothed smile and baby face, and her lovable personality. She takes beautiful pictures, such as the ones below:

The Muses

Call upon the Muses to unearth the imagination inside your vast inner being and they will answer your pleading with the plucking of lyres and the strumming of guitars. Call upon them; your intuition is telling you to do so. For they have graced the earth with music and dancing, and reside over the arts and over poetry. And they have graced Homer, Hesiod, Shakespeare, and many others with the exceptional gift of poetry, thus they have remained immortal throughout the centuries.

Blessed is the mortal whom the Muses happened to favor. On his birth, they would pour delicate dew on his tongue so that gentle words could come out of his mouth. All nations would then hang on his lips, respect him and treat him like a god, since only his decisions would result to justice and put an end to hassles.

To anyone who was in mourning or falling into decay, the Muses would sympathize and sent out a singer to praise the glory of gods and mortals; immediately, the sad one would forget about his sorrow and would turn happy again by listening to the blessed sweet voice.

If you wish for a beautiful voice and the talent for epic poetry, call upon Calliope.

If you desire the knowledge and discovering of our immense history throughout the centuries and the ability to write heroic poetry, seek the acquaintance of Clio.

If you yearn for the gift of music and lyric poetry, meditate upon the musings of Euterpe.

If you long for emergence of tragedy, to be pushed up to the state of emergency, and conversely be a songstress as well, portray the christening of Melpomene’s kinship.

If you love the resonance of choral songs and the agility of dance, inquire Terpsichore.

If you love the splendid gift of love, and wish to express your love through poems, follow Erato and she shall make you desired and worthy to be loved among men.

If you wish to excel in the areas of sacred poetry, geometry, mime, meditations, and agriculture, show devotion to Polyhymnia, who has been known to inspire writers with a distinction whose works have won them immortal fame.

If you are mystified by the outer limits, the stars exploding in the sky at night and the moon glimmering in the sky, and wish to know all you can about astronomy, search the galaxy for the face of Urania.

If you love the lightness of heart and the charm of comedy, welcome Thalia as your friend.

Tap into your inner Muse. Every woman has a Muse inside of them; everyone has the creativity, imagination, originality, uniqueness, and the vision to accomplish great works of art. For me, the Muses Calliope, Euterpe, Terpsichore, and Urania have blessed me with the aspiration for music, dance, poetry, and astronomy. All I have to do is surrender to them and they will grant me everything I need to produce my magnum opus, my artistic masterpiece.

“Call the Muses home. Seek those images that constitute the wild, the lion and the virgin, the harlot and the child. Find in middle air an eagle on the wing, Recognize the five that make the Muses sing.”

Everything Is Music

Plug in your boombox> Pop in a CD> Grab your headphones> Push the "play" button> Sit back and close your eyes> Get lost in the soundwaves

Everything and anything is correlated with music.

Since 90% of my thoughts have to do with music, I've decided to dedicate 90% of my blogging to music, also.

My headphones- they saved my life

Your tape- it lulled me to sleep
to sleep...
to sleep...
